Well, I couldn’t pull the money together to do the entire world tour in 2010, so I turned my focus to the Australasian Pro Tour… And yes, I won it!!
Being the back-to-back 2007 &2008 champion, then not being able to make it to events in 2009, I desperately wanted to win the title back in 2010!
Coming in to the final event at D-Bah last month, there were three of us in the running to win the tour. I was so stoked to place ahead of Lauren Fletcher and Nicole Fleming at the D-Bah event to take out the tour for the year! Based on the following results I became the Rebel Sport Australasian Pro Tour champion for 2010:
1st Soldiers Beach Pro
5th Port Macquarie Pro
2nd Rebel Sport (D-Bah) Pro
Yew!
On the 2010 IBA Women’s World Tour (WWT), I did make it to Buzios, Brazil, in May, where I had an amazing trip, scored
good waves, did a couple of promos and entered the Buzios Grand Slam WWT event. I won all my heats (beating two former world champs on the way) up until the woman on woman quarter finals. Unfortunately, the conditions were tiny and no set waves came to me, I got knocked, finishing a fairly respectable 7th overall.
In Brazil I felt really good competing at the World Tour level once again, I really miss it, and know with financial support I can win it! I am fully focussed on returning to the World Tour in 2011.
