GOALS for my future

  • World champion
  • Defend my 2010 Australasian Pro Tour title

  • Grow the Milkshakes brand
  • Raise the profile of Women’s bodyboarding around Australia and the world

Over the years, I have been featured in various bodyboarding movies -including No Friends -Roadhouse (which is the one I'm most proud of), Stalk, Salty Frames, videos by Waldron Bros and Ian Stewart, and more...
I've also been featured on local news TV stations for my wins and had a 15minute segment and interview on Fuel TV a couple of years ago.

Search "Lilly Pollard" on www.vimeo.com and www.youtube.com. I have a few good promo vids on there. Here's a couple below:

Milkshakes Designs!! My bodyboard brand :)

The below text is a pretty good summary of Milkshakes:
Taken from the ABOUT section of milkshakesdesigns.com

"Milkshakes is a girls’ bodyboard company created by Lilly Pollard and Turbo Surf Designs. Milkshakes plans to fill the gap in the women’s bodyboarding market with quality girls’ boards and accessories, which will be tested and endorsed by the best female bodyboarders in the world.

Bodyboarding Resume

I just decided to take snap shots of my bodyboarding resume, it's not up to date, but there are some cool pics in here of my past media coverage.

Some of my best bodyboarding pics!

I'm pretty lucky to be able to say that I have received more magazine coverage the past few years than any other Australian bodyboard girl, and more than most of the International girls as well!
It sounds very conceited of me to say that, but all I know is I work bloody hard for it!

Every swell I am hunting for good waves and calling photographers and putting myself into some scary positions for the shots! I bodyboard for the love of waves, and especially for the love of deep spitting pits!
I would still surf these heavy spots if there was noone around shooting, it's just I know that if I ever want to be a fully paid professional and really showcase to the world what girl bodyboarders can do, I need to get some photographic evidence to prove it!

Anyway, here are some of my best shots:

My work in bodyboarding

I like to think of myself as a pretty versatile being. I feel I am pretty multi-talented in handling many tasks that a pro bodyboarder is required to manage.

Over the years, my main priority has been to really promote women's bodyboarding. I'd like to see it grow for the girls to the extent that hopefully in a few years time, a decent number of girls will actually be able to live their dreams as professional paid bodyboarders.
I have been working on promoting women's bodyboarding in a number of ways:
  1. In a partnership with Turbo Surf Designs I have launched a girls bodyboarding brand: Milkshakes Designs, Boards that Girls Love to Ride.
Milkshakes has created a label exclusively for girl bodyboarders, with boards for girls of all abilities. I'm really stoked about it and the response so far has been great! We are already established nation wide and distributing globally! And we have only been in business for one year! For more info, here is our website: milkshakesdesigns.com

  2. I am the president of the Womens Bodyboarding Association (WBA) in Australia. A bodyboarding club for girls that we started a couple of years ago. The aim of the WBA is to recruit, promote, and encourage girl bodyboarders all over Australia, and create fun competition and coaching for girls to enjoy. We held three club contests in 2009, with divisions for girls of all abilites, and have dress up themes at each event. In January 2010 we are holding a coaching clinic in Cronulla for beginners. We also have a website: womensbodyboarding.com

  3. I write the Riptide magazine "Sisters" page. Riptide is a bi-monthly Australian bodyboarding magazine. A few years ago I campaigned to include a girls page in each issue, and here it is! Some of my articles have included

I thought I'd start my blog with a list of my best contest results from the past three years. If I listed all my results from my past 13 years of competing it would get a little boring huh!

Sponsors love contest results, and while I may have started out a little shy and uncertain in my first years of competing, I have to admit, that I have really grown to love competition. Especially in pumping waves! Here's me in the 2007 Pipe contest >>>>>>>>>

Basically, my biggest highlights are winning the Australian title four times, the IBA Australasian Pro Tour four times (2006, 07, 08 & 2010), placing Equal first at Pipeline in 2005 (A shark in the lineup stopped competition!), and my peak was probably winning the EL Confital IBA Womens World Tour (WWT) contest in Canary Islands in 2007(pic at top is my winning wave at Confital). I love that wave and
